 Parking
Enforcement in the Central Business District

With the purpose of promoting business, the Pontiac City Council voted on 12/3/2018to amend the limited time parking zone ordinance. Timed parking in the Central Business District (Downtown) is now 3 hour parking from 8 am-5 pm, Monday through Friday.  It was previously 2 hour parking. The City Hall lot, the lot next to the Dargan building and the lot on the south side of the historic courthouse continue to be unrestricted parking.  Signs are being adjusted and enforcement is expected to resume December 15th. The lot behind the Route 66 museum and the east side of the 200 block of Oak St. have been added to the 3 hour restriction.  The post office spots remain unchanged.  (A parking map is attached)

The first two violations in a calendar month are $5 each with subsequent violations $10.  Any parking fee that is unpaid for 15 days doubles.  Fees may be paid using one of the four red parking fee boxes located around the square or in person to City Hall or mail to City of Pontiac, 115 W. Howard St.  Pontiac, IL. 61764.  ###
