Monthly & Weekly Programs

Throughout the year, the Pontiac Public Library sponsors a variety of programs and special events. These events are open to the public and are, in almost all cases, free of charge. We work to develop programs for several specific groups of patrons:

  •  Children
  •  Young Adults
  •  Adults
  •  Older Adults

Programs for Children

Story Time

Story Times are built around a selected children’s book and a "make it and take it" craft project. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Story Time typically lasts for about 30 to 40 minutes.

Lego Club

Lego Club is geared to encourage creativity, cooperation, and sharing. The library supplies the Legos, the children bring their enthusiasm. Each week we will work together on a themed group-build project or challenge. The remaining time will offer children a chance to build their own masterpiece.

Adult Programs

Pontiac Library Book Club

The Pontiac Public Library Adult Book Club meets on the first Monday of every month at 6 pm. All are welcome! If the library is closed for a holiday on the first Monday of the month, we meet on the first Tuesday of the month.

The book club selects interesting books and then the members of the group meet after reading the book. Discussions are lively, but polite. We invite anyone interested in a social and mildly educational experience to join us.

The library orders extra copies of each month’s book, so ask at the circulation desk for next month’s book.
