Trunkin' Treasure Sale Planned for May 6 & 7

The annual Trunkin’ Treasure Sale will be returning to Downtown Pontiac this year as part of the Red Carpet Corridor Celebration! This year’s sale will take place Saturday, May 6 from 8:00-5:00 and Sunday, May 7 from 8:00-3:00. Registration opens March 1st.

Residents and local non-for-profits and churches are invited to load up their cars and head downtown to sell their treasures. The sale will take place in the parking lot south of the courthouse with the non-profit organizations being set up around the square. “This has worked out very well for us in the past” says Tourism Specialist Liz Vincent. “It allows for people wanting to garage sale to come to one place and see a multitude of treasures. It also keeps people close to downtown where all the festivities and food vendors are located. Red Carpet Corridor is always a fun weekend and having the Trunkin’ Treasure Sale set up downtown really adds to the fun!”

There is no fee to participate for Livingston County residents and non-profits. Out of county residents are charged a $25 registration fee. Registration is required for all participants to ensure there is adequate space for everyone. Registration forms will be available at Pontiac City Hall,   download them at visitpontiac.org, call Pontiac Tourism at (815) 844-5847 or by emailing liz.vincent@pontiac.org.

Other events of note during the Red Carpet Corridor Festival in Pontiac include a free musical revue performed by the Vermillion Players on Saturday, May 6 in Chautauqua Park Pavilion as well as a free performance by the Route 66 Band Sunday, May 7 at the Eagle Performing Arts and Conference Center.
